Discover the legacy of Ladder Ranch

At Ladder Ranch, our story is deeply rooted in the heart of Western agriculture. Learn about our commitment to the land, our community, and the passion that drives us every day in Savery, Wyoming.

The Land

The landscape of Ladder Ranch is as diverse as it is beautiful. Stretching across private lands, grazing allotments, and mountain ranges in Wyoming and Colorado, the ranch encompasses river valleys, sagebrush plains, mountain meadows, and high country summer ranges. These varied ecosystems provide the foundation for the ranch's livestock operation while also supporting abundant wildlife and healthy natural resources.

The ranch operates across elevations ranging from the Little Snake River Valley to high mountain grazing lands, creating a unique agricultural system that has evolved alongside the landscape for generations. Careful stewardship of these resources ensures that both livestock and wildlife can thrive on the land.

Livestock Operation

Raising and marketing livestock remains the primary focus of Ladder Ranch. The ranch produces Angus and Black Blade cattle as well as Rambouillet and Hampshire sheep, continuing a long standing tradition of livestock production in the region.

Cattle

The cattle operation is built around Angus and Black Baldy genetics selected for performance, adaptability, and productivity in the challenging environment of the Rocky Mountain West. Cattle spend the summer grazing mountain pastures and National Forest allotments before returning to lower elevation ranch lands and leased pastures for the winter.

Sheep

The sheep operation remains an important part of the ranch's identity and history. Rambouillet and Hampshire sheep are managed through one of the most unique grazing systems in the West, traveling between high elevation summer ranges and winter grazing areas in Wyomings Red Desert.

Livestock Transportation

Building on more than a century of livestock experience, Ladder Ranch Livestock Transportation provides a safe, reliable, and efficient hauling services for cattle producers throughout the region. The ranch manages private lands alongside Bureau of Land Management and Forest Service grazing allotments, balancing livestock production with responsible resource management. Through careful grazing practices, habitat improvement projects, and conservation partnerships, Ladder Ranch works to ensure the long term health of the land.
